Visitation activity in Newtown area, June 27, 2016

We resumed our visits in the Newtown area after two weeks because of the previous Monday holiday. We were off to a slow start, but with a prayer in our hearts we continued. Lo and behold people started chatting with us and we were kept very busy well after 6.00pm.  We missed some of our regulars and hope that they will rejoin us next Monday. Please note all are welcomed to visit with us,

Visitation June 13, 2016

Hi Everyone,

We started our new Visitation Activity today in the Newtown Area around All Saints Church. It was a bit challenging as the area has a lot more Businesses than residents. Nevertheless it was still a rewarding experience as we met and chatted with several residents on Woodford Street…..we even sold a couple of tickets for the Marionette Concert.

We were divided into two groups, and I am pleased to share the experiences of my group. We met Idi whose son was baptised last Sunday and he told us that he will be attending church next Sunday. It seems as if he really appreciated the visit as it reinforced his desire to attend church more often. We also met Mr.Ali at the top of Woodford St, who was reluctant to meet with us at first, saying that he had his own religion and did not want anyone to convert him. But as we chatted he became very interested in the activities of the Church especially the Health and Wellness programme. He said the major problem was the large number of homeless persons in the area.

Peace and Love,

Bible Study May19, 2016 with Fr. Ashley Mungal.
The topic was the Holy Spirit. Fr. Ashley asked ..What is the Spirit? Since most of the class could only give the fruits and the gifts of the Spirit. He suggested that we look at The Book of Common Prayer , The catechism page 398 ..God the Holy Spirit.
Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity, God at work in the world and the Church even now. Click now to view the video.
